Oxford Brookes has expanded its partnership with Metropolitan College Greece which will see five more of the UK university’s leading courses delivered in Athens and Thessaloniki.

The new postgraduate courses span subjects such as architecture, entrepreneurship, medical genetics, real estate investment and creative writing.

Professor Alistair Fitt, Vice-Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University said: “These new courses meet the demand in Greece for a skilled workforce in areas such as building, real estate and property, and contribute to expanding access to Higher Education in Greece. Our creative writing and genetics courses, for example, offer a unique opportunity to study these subjects at postgraduate level in Greece.

At Oxford Brookes University, we pride ourselves on our global outlook and this is reflected in our strong partnerships with a range of international colleges and institutions.

“At Oxford Brookes University, we pride ourselves on our global outlook and this is reflected in our strong partnerships with a range of international colleges and institutions. These partnerships enable us to see the world as a connected place, helping us to tackle the challenges of the modern world together. I’m looking forward to seeing our partnership with Metropolitan College continue to grow.”

The international partnership between Oxford Brookes and Metropolitan College Greece launched in 2019 with six undergraduate and postgraduate courses in subjects including accounting, allied health, hospitality and technology.

Professor Dinos Arcoumanis, Chairperson of the Academic Board at Metropolitan College, Greece, said: “The strengthening of our partnership with Oxford Brookes University, through the delivery by Metropolitan College of five new postgraduate programmes as part of the ongoing strategic plan between the two institutions, comes at a critical time when there is uncertainty about the extent of the pandemic and its impact on the global and national economies.

“Despite the prevailing difficult atmosphere, a significant number of young Greeks have already enrolled in the new Oxford Brookes programmes encouraged by the very successful launch of the partnership last year, the outstanding reputation of Oxford Brookes University in Greece and the market relevance and subject diversity of the new courses.

“These five postgraduate programmes will provide the incoming students with the necessary knowledge and tools for a successful professional career in Greece or abroad, confirming Metropolitan College’s position as the leading provider of TNE education in Greece."
